DESCRIPTION:Join us for a curator-lead deep dive into our new America 250 exhibit\, For the Common Good: 250 Years of Windsor Civic Life. \nThis program will highlight the women in the exhibit who worked to make Windsor a better place by representing the American ideals of Life\, Liberty\, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Women held charity drives\, created art\, drove ambulances\, ran for elected offices\, owned businesses\, participated in public protests\, and so much more.  Women have always made a difference in the Windsor community\, and they continue to serve our community today. \nThis program is part of Windsor Historical Society’s WindsorCT250 commemoration activities. \n$10 Adult\, $8 Member/Senior\, $6 Child \nREGISTER HERE

DESCRIPTION:Ages 8-11 \nStudents will receive a special tour of Windsor Historical Society’s new America 250 exhibit\, For the Common Good: 250 Years of Windsor Civic Life. There they will explore examples of times when people in Windsor worked towards the ideals of Life\, Liberty\, and the Pursuit of Happiness. \nThrough this program\, students will learn about the rights identified in the Declaration of Independence\, the actions taken in Windsor to achieve them\, and how each of us has the potential to make our community a better place for all. \nTwo sessions offered on Tuesday\, March 24\, 2026: one from 10 AM to 12 PM\, and the other from 1 to 3 PM. DESCRIPTION:Kevin Johnson portrays Jordan Freeman\, an enslaved resident of Old Lyme\, CT who served in the Revolutionary War as the servant to two American officers.  \nJohnson’s portrayal of Freeman is told from an emotional and exciting first-person perspective that vividly illustrates the struggle of African-Americans during the Revolutionary War.
